How often should I have a client sign a consent form?

My practical and legal answer is every single time because it is so simple and automated that why not?

First, are you using an automated scheduling system? If you're not, you need to be. There are many available on the market and just the amount of time you save yourself and the ease for your clients make it worth the investment.

Within the scheduling system, you can upload your client intake form which includes consent so that when they book their appointment they are giving their consent for the appointment.

They're also agreeing to all of your other terms like payment, refunds, cancellation, no show, after-care, etc.

Having a client give consent each time also completely eliminates any chance that you will forget to update the consent, say annually. Because let's face it as business owners many annual tasks are often missed because you are only doing them once.

So my best advice is to incorporate your consent as part of your booking process and then it is always updated and fresh in everyone's mind.
